Celebrated Colombian artist Duván López inaugurates his highly anticipated exhibition “Biophilia and Art: Jungles and Forests” in the United Arab Emirates, opening at AlMarsam Arts Center, Sharjah, on April 27, 2025, and running through May 27, 2025.
Following its acclaimed presentation in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Girona (Spain), the exhibition arrives in Sharjah in an expanded and enriched format, offering a powerful dialogue between art, science, and ecological awareness.
A project that transforms perception: art, nature, and human consciousness
“Biophilia and Art” emerges from an urgent contemporary need: to reconnect human beings with the living world through the senses, emotions, and critical consciousness.
Rooted in the concept of biophilia —the innate affinity for life— the project proposes that art does not simply represent nature, but reactivates it within us, awakening deep memory, sensory restoration, and ecological commitment.
The organic force, chromatic rhythms, and dreamlike jungles in Duván López’s paintings act as sensory and symbolic catalysts. This transformative process has been studied in a scientific paper developed and presented by Koncha Pinós, director and founder of The Wellbeing Planet, an organization operating in 49 countries and leading a global movement for wellbeing, commitment, and consciousness.
The paper was officially presented on April 24, 2025, at the Museum of the Future in Dubai, during the 1st International Conference on Sustainability, Creativity, and Nature-Inspired Art.
It demonstrates how conscious engagement with Duván’s work can modify perception, enhance emotional connection, and activate deep ecological awareness in visitors.

The workshops are led by Koncha Pinós, director and founder of The Wellbeing Planet, blending neuroaesthetics, sensory pedagogy, and ecopsychology.
