A Series of Transformative Workshops in Sharjah
On the occasion of the exhibition by Colombian artist Duván López, whose evocative paintings will be on view at AlMarsam Arts Center, Sharjah, from April 27 to May 27, 2025, The Wellbeing Planet is proud to present a series of three workshops designed to awaken perception, deepen ecological awareness, and explore the healing power of art.
Curated and led by Dr. Koncha Pinos, Director of The Wellbeing Planet and international expert in neuroaesthetics and deep ecology, each workshop invites participants into a sensorial and symbolic dialogue with the natural world — through the lens of Biofilia y Arte and in resonance with the visual language of Duván López.
🟩 Workshop 1: BIOPHILIA & GREEN
The Power of Green in Visual Perception and Wellbeing
🗓 Tuesdays – April 29, May 6 & 13, 2025
Discover how the color green activates perceptual pathways in the brain and promotes a sense of balance, clarity and wellbeing — particularly within the cultural and spiritual symbolism of the Emirates.
→ Includes: green perception mapping, natural pigments, observation of Duván’s green forms, and reflections on the meaning of green in Islam.
🟦 Workshop 2: BIOPHILIA & SOUND
Birdsong and the Aesthetics of Wellbeing
🗓 Thursdays – May 1, 8 & 15, 2025
Experience original birdsong recordings from the Colombian rainforest, and explore how sound patterns resonate with the visual rhythms in Duván López’s art — inspired by the fractal concepts of Leonardo da Vinci.
→ Includes: deep listening, sensory translation exercises, and personal visual responses to sound.
🟫 Workshop 3: BIOPHILIA & ART – DEEP ECOLOGY
How Art Awakens Ecological Awareness
🗓 Saturdays – May 3, 10 & 17, 2025
Can a painting move us to protect a forest? This workshop explores the rainforest as a symbolic, perceptual, and ethical space — using Duván López’s artwork as a portal for reflection and action.
→ Includes: guided observation, eco-symbolic art practices, and a collective nature-based installation.
